I'm Shipping Up to Boston

Even though this Celtics soundtrack by the Dropkick Murphys has been a permanent fixture on my mobile media list for over a year now, it held little meaning for me.
It was a great number for an hybrid tap dance and my ringtone for months but it did not have any particular significance really.

Now, 5 days away from shipping myself to Boston its the theme song to my life again.
I'll be joining Emerson College, Boston from September 1. Flying out to Boston on 28th.
Provided of course, that I don't die in these 5 days. Coz, nothing short of death is going to stop me from boarding that flight.

Having slogged so much for it (and a lot of slogging left to do) I never realized how fast it all happened. And now this happens to be my last weekend at home. I'm very excited and all that jazz, but as I hear my brother planning to take over my bed and cabinets I must honestly admit to being a little bummed out.

I've never lived alone, don't know how to cook, have never done my laundry, can just about do dishes sloppily, and don't know the first thing about... anything. Yep, this is going to be so much fun!

With hardly any money, a lamentable skill set, high amount of ignorance and insurmountable brash over-confidence; Emerson College, here I come!

PS: Goodbye people, next post shall be from the other side of the world.

[I don't know why, but I suspect you'll go underground and I won't hear from you.]

I can relate to every word of this post (I suppose one can substitute Boston with Exeter) but the death thing? TOTALLY. Over-confidence? YESSSIR.

Will I see you before you go? Or are you swamped?

Also, why the fuck are there so many "no likeys"? Are people getting emo? I LIKE THIS POST.

I felt the same way about the song 'Friday' till my TYBA exams ended on a Friday and the song suddenly had a whole new meaning for me. :)

I'm hoping I can feel the way you do soon. Good luck! Your last line was brilliant! :)

@Dengie: Thanks mon. You just get me.

@Urvashi: No, I wont!! I'll try my levelest bestest not to. Do not go :( on me, okay?

@S: We never did do that JB thing did we? Sigh. Lets try and meet once. 26 maybe. Although Im mega mega swamped. But still. I dont really understand the likey no likey feature.

@Bhavini: I hope you feel the same too! :) Very soon. And which last line? The PS line or the last line before that? Never mind, both rock.

Yo !! I can totally empathize with you on this one. In my case, I had the song 'Empire State of Mind' by Alicia Keys & JayZ play over infinitely in the last few days before flying out. It simply peps you up for the whole parting from family and friends bit :P. And yes, come over quick. And as weird as it may sound, let's meet up too :) cuz I will be in Boston sometime surely in September. Mail me your contact details when u get here.

Cheers
